The 2019-20 Annual Fund Drive is Under Way! - Please HELP FVFC HELP You!

2019-20 Annual Fund Drive

Who Will Help If We Can’t?

Hello Neighbor,

We know what you are thinking…another year, another donation letter. “Always with their hands out.” “I pay taxes - isn’t that enough?” Did you know that the tax dollars we receive from the Township only covers a mere 22% of the base operational costs?

To keep our engines running and the lights on, we must fundraise for the other 78%. This drive alone helps us to cover only about half of what we need. This is why we must humbly ask for your continued support. Without it, this company cannot survive. And without a fire

company within 5 miles of your home or business, insurance rates will rise and the timeliness of getting to you when you need help will be impacted.

We are sorry to say this so bluntly, but the fact is we need you.

We are also in desperate need of volunteers. Men and women who are willing to give of themselves and help grow this company. The numbers of volunteers have dwindled nationwide, and Fleetville has had its fair share. If you are interested in fighting fires or assisting at fundraisers and events, please contact the station at 570-945-3139, talk to any member, email me at or contact us via our Facebook page #FleetvilleFire. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month, stop in - we would love to talk to you! Anyone aged 14 and over can become a member.

Please help us help you by contributing your tax-deductible donation today and/or becoming a member.

If it weren’t for the generosity of those who have contributed in the past, and those who continue to contribute, the services we provide to protect life & property would not be possible. We could not continue without community support. Unfortunately, last year less than 25% of our residents contributed to FVFC through this annual fund drive yet we are there for 100% of residents of Fleetville and Benton Township.

A small donation of $25.00 goes a long way, but please be as generous as these tough economic times allow. Every dollar counts.

Rest assured we will answer “the call” and make whatever sacrifices are necessary to protect your most valuable assets.

Simply because ... it is what we do!

Let’s lighten things up a bit and tell you where your support has taken us!

• The roof over the office and meeting room was repaired.
• The office received a face-lift with a new ceiling, paint, office furniture, cabinets and LED lighting.

• The meeting room received a remodel! New ceiling, walls, flooring and LED lighting Thanks in large part to a Girl Scout Gold Award Project and with the financial support of the FVFC Ladies Auxiliary for the new floor.
• We added a television in the meeting room to improve training.

• Our dining hall was repainted and many of the ceiling
tiles replaced.

• New doors on the dining hall and LED lighting in the entrance and display case.

• Added a stronger digital network and wifi thought the facility.

• In a joint effort with the Trail Rotary and the Benton Twp. Lions Club we installed a generator to ensure the community has a safe and powered shelter in case of extended power outages.

But our biggest improvement is on its way!

Our fire company’s current tanker is aging so over the past several years our members have been working with manufacturers to build a new pumper/tanker to better serve our community. This tanker is completely designed around minimal staffing. Minimal staffing comes from a direct result of the lack of volunteers. This truck will act as a fire engine as well as carry enough water to start to extinguish many fires. We are proud to announce that this truck is currently being built by Marion Body Works in Wisconsin and Fleetville Fire Company becomes home early winter of 2019. It is now more important than ever for you to support your fire department. The cost of this truck to serve all of you is approximately $350,000.

Spending this amount of money did not come without a lot of hard work and sacrifices.

Thank you! The donations you make to our organization help to make projects like this possible. It allows us to make the necessary changes and upgrades to help protect and serve you better. Thank you for your continued support!

Only 22% of our operational budget is supported by taxes.
